First Cohort Graduation

Category : Uncategorized

On Thursday, April 7, 2016, the first Cohort of ScaleUp Thurston graduated!  Each company gave a 5 minute PowerPoint presentation with elements of their Growth Plans and lessons learned from the experience.  Some common themes emerged.  Many companies were launching into new marketing efforts such as new vehicle wraps, expanded use of social media, and entering new markets.  Several business owners expressed a new-found understanding of the nuances of their financial reports, and new approaches to forecasting.  There were many kind words of thanks for the experience.

The public was invited to attend, and several EDC Board members were present, including Lacey Councilperson Virgil Clarkson, Jessica Jensen, and Reid Bates.  A number of family members and employees were also present to celebrate the accomplishment.  Afterwards, the group enjoyed conversation and treats, including Miss Moffet’s Mystical Cupcakes.

The second cohort for ScaleUp Thurston will begin on May 5, 2016 and the participating companies will be announced soon.
